Peanut Butter Inventory!

I'm a Grocery Game junkie! I've saved well into the thousands in the last 15 months! Anyway, I found this shelf of my pantry quite amusing...do you think I need more peanut butter?? Also, it may be hard to see, but there are 3 canisters of oatmeal in the back! I think I need to start checking my inventory and maybe make a few batches of peanut butter oatmeal cookies!! Yum Yum! Ha Ha!

The Grocery Game - Shopping with Teri Gault!

As you know I am a HUGE fan of The Grocery Game! Over the last 10 months I have saved more than $1600 from following the list from TheGroceryGame.com!

Check out my great shopping trip with Teri Gault, founder of the Grocery Game!! Yes, I got to go on a personal shopping trip to Publix with Teri!

Throughout my shopping trip I learned all sorts of great saving tips! For example, I now hold onto my coupon circulars each weekend and label them with the date. This saves the crazy amount of time that I used to spend cutting and organizing nearly every coupon each weekend. Also, bulk doesn't always add up to savings. Many times the special savings, along with a coupon, will make the average or smaller size of an item (i.e. cereal) cheaper per ounce than the huge box!

Put to the test: Just this past weekend I went to Winn-Dixie with my Grocery Game list and coupons in hand. I spent $38.52 and saved $41.99 that's a savings of 51%! Wow!

Try The Grocery Game for 4 weeks for just $1!

Tuesday Toot - The Grocery Game's Best Shopping Experience!

As many of you know, I have participated in The Grocery Game for a number of weeks. I have saved over $500 so far! For my Tuesday Toot, I am soooo excited to share my most successful Grocery Game shopping experience!!!

Last Saturday I headed to CVS with my Grocery Game List in hand.

Here's what I bought:

  • 2 brand name razor blades

  • 2 packs of diapers

  • 2 box of baby wipes

  • 2 tubes of toothpaste

  • 2 10-packs of AA batteries

  • 2 air fresheners

  • 2 bottles of dish soap

  • 2 boxes of band aides

  • 4 bottles of baby body wash

Guess how much money I had to pay for all this???? Only $12!!! That's it! Plus, I walked out with $17 in Extra Care Bucks to use next week! Looking at my receipt, I spent $12 and saved $87!!! Yipeeeeee!

I really encourage those of you looking for ways to stretch your dollars to look a The Grocery Game. It is very much a smart mama thing to do!

Mother's Day & Grocery Game Recap

No nominations were given for Munchkin Monday...so instead it's Weekend Recap!!!

We had a great weekend - as I'm sure many mommies did!

Saturday - We were out of the house by 8:45 and on our way to The Original Pancake House. It's a yummy restaurant that is extremely OVERPRICED! I was so impressed with my munchkin. We sat her at the high chair, up close to the table. Tom cut up a pancake and she, just like a big girl, used her little plastic fork to feed herself! I was so impressed and proud. That alone could have been my Mother's Day gift! We spent the rest of the day running other errands.
Mother's Day Sunday - I received a beautiful bracelet that came with a matching bracelet for my munchkin. We both wore our bracelets and looked adorable! They are beautiful! I actually started the day with coffee in bed, along with the newpapers and the scissors (to cut my coupons!) After showers and such, I printed out my Publix Grocery Game list! I highlighted what we would buy and pulled the coupons. We excitedly headed to Publix. I couldn't wait to see how much we would save! We pulled up to the cashier with the cart nearly overfull and learned that we saved $70 and only spent $55!!! I couldn't believe it! Later in the day we had a great lunch with my parents - where my daughter again was such a big girl eating all by herself! We stopped at Winn-Dixie on the way home to buy some meats and other little things that I had printed from the Grocery Game and we ended up spending $50 and saving $49! This is crazy! I am a real Grocery Game addict!!! It is just unreal how much money you can save! I wish losing weight was as easy as this!

Tackle It Tuesday - Attack of the Coupons!

Tackle It Tuesday Meme

Good Morning!

So I have a big tackle today ---the coupon drawer! I will organize my millions of coupons. I've always been a "coupon girl" but using them when I should hasn't been my forte. Today I'm following The Grocery Game CVS list and rules to shop. I've printed the list and hope to earn lots and lots of ECB (Extra Care Bucks)!

I follow a message board on the Grocery Game's website where someone always writes that 'CVS is the new black!' Apparently, with the right coupons, and the right list, you can save TONS of money! Can't wait!

Hope to beat the 47% I saved on Sunday at Publix using my coupons and the Grocery Game list!!!

Grocery Game Update! I saved 47%!!!!

Yesterday morning I logged into The Grocery Game and printed out my list for Publix (my local supermarket.) The list told me what are the best deals for the coming days. So I went, list in hand and trusted the list. I bought only things off the list, with the exception of 4 items. I spent $58.36 and saved $47.61! That's a 47% savings! Crazy!!! I couldn't believe it! I've started my stockpile - buying 12 boxes of Lipton Pasta Sides and 2 four packs of tuna. The idea is that your pantry is stockpiled with items you bought at rock bottom prices, you won't ever need to run out and buy things at full price.

To learn more read last Thursday's post or go to the Grocery Game's website. If you decide to join in on the savings, please put me down as your referral: cubtie@aol.com

Please be sure to share your savings!!!
