Plans for the weekend...

Hi Smart Mamas!

I'm sure you are all as happy as I am that it's Friday!!! We have a pretty casual weekend planned. We have TONS of housework - clean out the garage, plant flowers, reorganize the guest room... - and we hope to have time to attend the South Miami Rotary Arts Festival. It's a great little festival that has a lot of what you would see at other festivals, like the Coconut Grove one we went to last week, BUT it's FREE! That's my favorite part!

Another pretty HUGE event for the weekend...take down my munchkin's toddler bed/crib!!!! For nearly a year she has been sleeping in a toddler bed with a twin in the room with her. Occasionally she'll fall sleep on the twin and even times we'll put her on the toddler bed at night and find her on the twin in the morning. So, this weekend, for a number of reasons, we're going to have the toddler bed/crib disappear! My handy husband will take it apart and find a storage spot (another thing to put on the list) to store until the next munchkin needs it!

Wish us luck!

Smart Living - Tracking Water - Day 3

So Wednesday wasn't as good...I had one rubbermaid and 2 separate glasses. It was a crazy day with lots and lots going on (all good) around here.

I would think about pouring more water and then something would catch my eye that needed to be cleaned, organized or thrown out! (I'm making excuses, aren't I!)

Cheers to more water tomorrow!!!

Don't forget to post your daily water intake!

Smart Living - Tracking Water

Smart Living Challenge
I challenge YOU, my Smart Mama, to consider how much water you drink each day. I'm not telling you how much I think you should drink, I just want you to track it over the next week. Each day, between now and next Monday, I would like you to record each time you drink a full 8 oz glass of water. (Crystal Light counts, but not soda) You can record via a daily comment or in a notebook. Next Tuesday be sure to post a comment with the average number of 8 oz glasses of water you consumed.

Don't forget to subscribe to the SmartyPantsMama.com feed so you'll get a daily reminder via my postings to track your Smart Living Challenge.

Why?
Next week I'll share some very useful info on water consumption. Did you know that 8 glasses a day isn't the recipe for EVERYONE? Some should drink more, and some even less! Come by next week to find out!

Smarty Pants Product of the Week - Physical Science DVD by Rock 'N Learn

Product
Physical Science by Rock ‘N Learn
Smarty Pants Review
Flashback to upper elementary and middle school years...what’s the difference between a neutron and a proton?? What’s the scientific method? What’s the difference between a chemical and a physical change? Okay, I’m guessing most of you could answer one, maybe two. Now what do you do when your grade 5+ munchkin needs help under

standing topics like, motion & gravity, or electricity & magnetism? Rock ‘N Learn has put together another very worthwhile, entertaining DVD that is exactly what you should have for the years of Physical Science!
I enjoyed this DVD, alongside my husband (former student of mechanical engineering). He certifies that the information was accurate, and I certify that it was entertaining. On top of that, as a former elementary school teacher, I truly certify that it is a DVD that is well worth the time of your student.
Rock ‘N Learn also provides super supplemental activities (tests & posters) to compliment the DVD! Check them out! http://www.markthepencil/

Why is it a Smarty Pants of Product?
As Smart Mamas we are certainly entitled to be a little rusty in areas of science that we may not have even looked at since the pop quiz in 6th grade! Having resources available to appropriately support your learning munchkin is a very Smart Mama way to be!

Smarty Pants Product of the Week - Clip 'N' Feed

Product
Clip ‘N’ Feed Nursing Cover
Smarty Pants Review
What a great product for mommies! The Clip ‘N’ Feed is the perfect item to have tucked into the diaper bag. First off, breastfeeding moms, this is EXACTLY what you need to keep your modesty and privacy when feeding in public. The Clip ‘N’ Feed very easily clips to your shirt, bra… to hold the cover in place while you nurse. No more, praying that a big gust of wind doesn’t fly the cover blanket away! PLUS, the Clip ‘N’ Feed has multiple uses! With the clips you can clip the stylish cover to the stroller – and even car window - to shield your infant from the sun. I just love it! Clip 'N' Feed makes a great gift for new mommies!
Why is it a Smarty Pants of Product?
Super practical! Multiple uses! Supports nursing – very SMART – and supports protection from the sun – very SMART!
