Recall Wednesday: Scotsman® Commercial Modular Cube Ice Machines, Scooby Doo, Tweety and Batman Fork and Spoon Sets,Lutron and Meijer Roman Shades

Below are the CPSC recalls that I have received since Wednesday, February 24, 2010. There are 2 recalls for roman shades. Roman shades pose a strangulation hazard with children. There is a recall for a children's fork and spoon set that was sold at Dollar Tree stores in January. The prongs of the fork can snap and potentially cause a choking hazard. Name of Product: Scotsman® Commercial Modular Cube Ice Machines (Modular Cubers)
Hazard: The solenoid, an electrical component in the product, can fail and result in an electrical arc that can pose a fire hazard.
Description: The recalled machines are designed to be installed on top of ice storage bins or ice dispensers, and typically are used in commercial establishments. Model numbers begin with C0322, C0330, C0522, C0530, C0630, C0830, C1030, C1448, C1848, C2148, EH130, EH222, EH330, or EH430, and serial numbers of the recalled machines within these model designations begin with 05, 06, 07, 08 or 09. Model and serial numbers are on the back of all machines and, depending on the model, behind the machine’s front panel either in the lower right corner of the machine or on the left side of the sheet metal wall that separates the larger (equipment) compartment from the smaller (ice-making) compartment.
Scotsman® commercial flake and nugget ice machines, commercial undercounter cube ice machines, and residential ice machines are not involved in this recall.
Sold Exclusively at: Commercial food service equipment distributors and dealers nationwide from September 2006 through December 2009 for between $4,000 and $14,000.
Name of Product: Scooby Doo, Tweety and Batman Fork and Spoon Sets
Hazard: The middle two prongs of the plastic fork can detach, posing a choking hazard to children.
Description: This recall involves the Scooby Doo, Tweety and Batman plastic fork and spoon sets. The two-piece set is white plastic with cartoon images on the handle.
Sold at: Dollar Tree Stores and Deals during January 2010 for about $1 per set.

Name of Product: Lutron Shading Solutions Roman Shades
Hazard: Strangulations can occur when a child places his/her neck between the exposed inner cord and the fabric on the backside of the blind or when a child pulls the cord out and wraps it around his/her neck. Also, in manual Roman shades, strangulations can also occur if the shade's looped bead chain is not attached to the wall or to the floor and a child's neck becomes entangled on the free-standing loop.
Description: This recall involves all custom-ordered made-to-measure motorized and manual Lutron Shading Solutions Roman shades. The shades were sold in a variety of colors, fabrics, and sizes. Nearly all shades were professionally installed. "Lutron Shading Solutions" or "Lutron Shading Solutions by VIMCO" is printed on the packaging.
Sold at: Specialty dealers and Expo Design Centers nationwide from January 2000 through August 2009 for between $120 and $4,500 per shade.


Name of Product: Innovations and "At Home with Meijer" Roman Shades and Roll-Up Blinds
Hazard: Roll-up Blinds-Strangulations can occur if the lifting loops slide off the side of the blind and a child's neck becomes entangled on the free-standing loop or if a child places his/her neck between the lifting loop and the roll-up blind material.Roman Shades-Strangulations can occur when a child places his/her neck between the exposed inner cord and the fabric on the backside of the blind or when a child pulls the cord out and wraps it around his/her neck.
Description: This recall involves all Innovations and "At Home with Meijer" Roman shades and roll-up blinds. The Roman shades are made with fabric or bamboo and the Roll-up blinds with bamboo. A label reading "Innovation" or "At Home with Meijer" can be found under the headrail.
Sold at: Meijer Stores and Meijer.com between January 2004 and December 2009 for about $40.

Smart Food - The organics have arrived!

The loot has arrived! Monday afternoon little Isa and I picked up our 2 large bags of organic, and much local, produce! Oh yummy! This is what I now have in my kitchen:

I already used the chard last night to make a Tom Colicchio recipe! I'll share that soon.
Tomorrow I'm making a chicken, broccoli and cauliflower casserole and maybe my delicious pineapple salsa. Does that sound yummy!?
